more than an event

The AANHPI Heritage Celebration is a cultural gathering created to bring people together through shared experiences, storytelling, and celebration.

Hosted by The Ulu Initiative in partnership with Vancouver Mall, this event highlights the beauty and diversity of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander cultures in Southwest Washington.

From traditional performances and cultural demonstrations to local vendors and family-friendly activities, this celebration creates space for connection across generations and communities.

This is a place where culture is seen, stories are shared, and community comes together.

ABOUT

For many families, opportunities to see their cultures represented in public spaces are rare.

This event creates space for:

  • Youth to feel seen, proud, and connected to their identity

  • Families to build relationships and community

  • Cultural practitioners to share knowledge and tradition

  • The broader community to learn and engage with respect

These moments matter. They shape identity, belonging, and connection.
